Cloves are the hard, dried flower buds of an evergreen tree of the myrtle family, from SE Asia. Very aromatic with a strong pungent flavour, they are used in spicy, sweet & savoury dishes, mulled wines and punches, sauces, cakes, mincemeat, puddings, biscuits and pastries.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and strong odour. Keep in an airtight container. Spices keep fresh for longer in darkness.
